Tribes India showroom was opened in the evening of January 24, 2018 in our Vivekananda Kendra Office at Sannathi Street, Rameswaram. It was inaugurated by Shri.Omprakash Meena IPS, Superintend of police, Ramanathapuram.  He sold the first product to Shri.Guneswaran, Manager, Hotel Tamilnadu. Then he was felicitated by the Tribes India Showroom Coordinator and the gathering was given Tea and Snacks.

Revival and Renovation of Water Bodies

Neelakanta Teertham Renovation work started on December 28, 2017 and completed on 20th January. Since the Kumbabishekam of Ayyanar Temple near Neelakanta Teertham also coincided there was a greater need to complete the work before Kumbabishekam.  Our Team responded well and completed the major works on time.

Landscaping and Beautification

1.    Greening of Mangalavanam
Forest Department gave 100 Plant Saplings for Mangalavanam. With the help of volunteers these saplings were planted.

2.    Greening of Abdul Kalam Library
15 Saplings were planted around the Abdul Kalam Library in Rameswaram on 21 January 2018. Librarian will take care of the plants.

Regular Yogasana classes in the morning and Hindi and English classes in the evening were conducted. Weekly yoga session for Coast guards also continued.   
Apart from regular activities following events took place.

1.    Municipal Secretary Visit to Green Rameswaram Building

Shri.Harmander Singh, Secretary, Municipal Administration visited Green Rameswaram Building on January 14, 2018. Along with him Dr.S.Natarajan IAS, District Collector, Ramanathapuram District, Smt.Janaki Ravichandran, RDMA, Municipal Administration, Madurai and the entire Municipality team visited the Green Rameswaram Building.
