Biodiversity Loss

Dr.Sanjay Banerji
Founder Director/Dean of Amrita School of Business
This month, we shall talk about Biodiversity Loss, one of the Planetary Boundaries that we humans have crossed as far back as 1950, and I believe, we have not appreciated its significance as much, as we have been able to appreciate the dangers of ‘Climate Change’ and global warming. We got an idea of the evolution of life on Earth (Blog #2), and the three basic forms of bacteria – fermenters, photo-synthesizers and oxidizers that form the basis of all life on Earth. Nature nurtured the evolution of different forms of life on Earth, and we even do not know exactly the number of species that are living on our Mother Earth.
