Newsletter - July 2022

Read Coverting Letter - Rama’s squirrel calling …..
July 2022, Vol.7;  No.05

Dear Friends,

Masaru Emoto of Japan created much interest and debate through his photo-micrographs of water drops in different ‘moods’ and convinced that water is alive – that the boundary between living and non-living is blurred. In his famous book “The Hidden Messages of Water” he wrote – “To understand water is to understand cosmos, the marvels of nature and life itself”. Such a vision helps to see ourselves and our universe differently. It tells that molecules of water are affected by our thoughts, words and feelings. He tries to show through these scientific experiments, the healing power of love and gratitude – “As science and spirit unite, resulting in a profound and undeniable quantum jump in how we view our world”

We too are trying to build the “Water Consciousness” among the stakeholders of Rameswaram by involving them in preserving and maintaining the Traditional Water bodies – Teerthams.

This month’s newsletter has the following highlights:

  • Dr.Sanjay Banerji has started a new series Management of SHGs
  • Solid waste management work by - Hand in Hand Inclusive Development Services, Chennai
  • Dr.A.Abirami, Programme Officer of the C.P.R. Environmental Educational Center writes about the herbal plant – Vettiver
  • Livelihood Opportunities covers usual activities - SHG meeting and E-Rickshaw
  • Revival and Renovation of Traditional Water Bodies – Naraneeya Teertham
  • In Social capital - Teertha Poojas,  Teertha Mitra’s meeting, celebration of Guru purnima, Disaster management training etc. and finally 'Green Rameswaram newsletter’ by the students and for the students of Rameswaram

I do hope that this would be useful for all, especially those who are trying their hands for the first time to manage the Self-Help Groups (SHGs). I shall try to keep them as simple as possible.
