Newsletter - June 2022

Read Coverting Letter - Rama’s squirrel calling …..
June 2022, Vol.7;  No.04

Dear Friends,

Thiruvilayadal Puranam has cited that Lord Shiva himself labored to help old lady Vanthi with the construction of an embankment over Vaigai River, Madurai. The king was not satisfied with the work and beat him with a Pirambu stick. The moral of the story is that even the God comes down for helping the people to conserve the water body.

We have printed the above story as a back cover page to our IInd volume of “Squirrels’ Seva – Rediscovery of Rameswaram Teerthams”. We too are trying to involve the local community in Reviving and maintaining the Renovated Traditional water bodies – Teerthams in the spirit of Kudimaramathu.

This month’s newsletter has the following highlights:

  • Dr.Sanjay Banerji in his blog writes on a different topic - The Goal of Life
  • Solid waste management work by - Hand in Hand Inclusive Development Services, Chennai
  • Dr.A.Abirami, Programme Officer of the C.P.R. Environmental Educational Center writes about the herbal plant –  Vellerukku (Calotropis)

Dear Friends,

This month, I am sharing with you, a note, I wrote in January this year.

A news clip about Kazakhstan becoming second biggest crypto currency (bitcoins) producer led me to enquire about it. I did some web search at: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1200477/bitcoin-mining-by-country/

Some interesting facts led to this note.

USA, China and now Kazakhstan are the largest ‘producers’ of bitcoins, while African countries indulge the most in bitcoins trade. So, the mighty are once again out, to pump out the last drop of blood that may be available from the gullible.
