Adar Poonawalla is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Serum Institute of India which is the biggest manufacturers of vaccines in the world and became famous because of the Covishield vaccine during the Covid pandemic. He has founded the Clean city initiative in 2015 with the sole purpose of improving the environment and waste management in the city of Pune his home base. Planetary Boundaries Update
Introduction
The Planetary Boundaries (PB) framework was first proposed by a group of scientists led by Johan Rockstrom [1] in 2009. They called it “A safe operating space for humanity”. The framework was updated in 2015 [2] and 2023[3].

Six Source Segregation Demonstration programmes have been organized during the month of September 2023 on 3rd , 5th, 13th 17th, 22nd, 24th in Ward 11-Thechchathar Kollai Street, Ward 3- Sooran Thidal, Ward 13 – West Car Street, Ward 5 - JJ Nagar, Ward 16 - Railway Feeder Road, Ward 8 - Kamarajar Nagar.

Distribution and Habitat
E.hirta belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae. It is a slender-stemmed, annual hairy plant with many branches from the base to top, spreading up to 40 cm in height, reddish or purplish in colour. The plant is distributed throughout the temperate or tropical parts of India, Asia, Africa and Australia, often found in lowland, paddy fields, wastelands, and along roadsides.
“Revival and Renovation of Traditional Water Bodies” Simha Teertham
Simha Teertham is a natural water body and is considered a sacred Teertham (a holy water source) by devotees. It is believed to have mythological significance in Hinduism. According to legend, Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, along with his army of monkeys and his loyal devotee Hanuman, worshipped Lord Shiva at this very spot before embarking on his mission to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana in Lanka.

Teertha Pooja
Our work of involving community in doing Teertha poojas is going on smoothly. SHG members, E-auto drivers and Yoga participants are trying to take the ownership of the programme. In this month, we could not carry out Teertha poojas at many places because of some preoccupations. We did Teertha poojas at 10 Traditional water bodies with 228 volunteers participating in the activity. The details are given below.
