இம்மாவட்டத்தில் பழைய கற்காலம் முதல் வரலாற்றுக்காலம் வரையிலான தொல்லியல் இடங்கள் அதிகமாகக் காணப்படுகின்றன. குறிப்பாக சாயல்குடி, அழகன்குளம், பட்டனம் காத்தான், தேரிருவேலி, அறியாகுண்டு, பெரியபட்டிணம் போன்ற தொல்லியல் இடங்கள் மிக முக்கியமானவையாகும். இவற்றில் ஒரு சில சங்ககால ஊர்களென்று அகழாய்வுகளின் மூலம் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டவைகளாகும். சாயல்குடியானது நுண்கற்காலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த தொல்லியல் இடமாகும்.

Environment Day Celebration
On 5th June, Environment Day programme was conducted at Sri Vardhini Mahal to commemorate the World Environment Day 2020. The District Collector of Ramanathapuram Mr.K.Veera Raghava Rao chaired the programme. The Municipal Commissioner of Rameswaram Municipality, Mr.V.Ramar, Tehsildar, Project Manager of Green Rameswaram project and other officials participated in the event.

Green Health – International Yoga Day Celebrations
Prelude
International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. This year due to COVID 19 we have limited options.
Online International Yoga Championship
We have announced Online International Championship competition. Two categories were worked out

Yoga classes
Yoga Classes starts around 5.30 AM in the morning. On an average 5 Children, 10 Youths and 5 adults attend the classes. Yoga solutions to the everyday problems were taught to the participants like managing stress, improving the concentration etc. Diabetic Patients also attend along with other students although they perform specific Asanas.
